Case Study - Intelligent Automation
Automation as a transformation enabler at the Office of Public Prosecutions
Automating time consuming administrative tasks to free up staff to focus on transformation delivery
The context
The Office of Public Prosecution (OPP) were initiating a major digital transformation program and were seeking to understand how to balance the delivery of business-as-usual operations, while redirecting its people and resources to its transformation.
Our approach
After gaining an in-depth understanding of where OPP's people were spending time, Alyve identified multiple time-consuming activities and processes which were a good fit for Robotic Process Automation. Further analysis confirmed the opportunity to release significant time and capability back to the organisation, which could be utilised for digital transformation activites.
After building the OPP’s understanding and support, we automated nine processes successfully within six months.
The results
The automation program improved the day-to-day work of teams across the business by removing frustrating and administrative work, improving service delivery times, and reducing complaints for central service teams.
Ultimately, the equivalent of five full-time staff (approximately 7,000 hours) are freed up every year. This allowed the OPP to execute its transformation program without the need for hiring additional staff, or reducing the quality of business-as-usual delivery.
