Our client was struggling under the weight of their project portfolio. Following a number of acquisitions, the backlog of projects had grown to a size which was unmanageable, and the business didn’t know where to start.

This was creating significant confusion, lost focus and spiralling costs for the business. To put it simply they were stuck under the weight of the challenge, for this reason they engaged Alyve to help.

We began by making sense of the project portfolio. Our work identified 100+ projects of which a number were very large with complex dependencies and risks. In partnership with the Executive, we consolidated and prioritised the top 40 projects, defined how each would deliver value and identified the most appropriate place to start.

To manage project delivery and provide visibility to the business, we established a central digital transformation office. This was supported by a fit-for-purpose customised program management tool to support good governance, and coordination, and to ensure continued confidence in the delivery streams.

Additionally, we provided training to uplift capabilities within the organisation on good project management practices.

Digital transformation is complex to execute, but our client now has the right mechanism to ensure their success and the confidence in execution.

Our client is now successfully delivering a range of projects throughout the business and is seeing the results of focused delivery.

The Executive are able to make informed, high-quality decisions and can understand the trade-offs when competing priorities arise. This enables the business to optimally manage sequencing and resourcing, with minimal impact to operational staff and BAU outcomes.
